Blog Post 4: American Holidays and I

Last Friday and today we learned about American holidays and how people celebrate them.

In fall people in America celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving. Halloween is on October 31. Children dress up in costumes and sing the song and go "trick or treating. They eat candy. Also, they carve pumpkin. I want to celebrate Thanksgiving because is a popular day in US. The people eat turkey and wine.

today I painted a pumpkin for Halloween. It was funny because I like paint.

Blog post 3: 9/14/2012 Music Review

     Today we listened to John Lennon's "Imagine" and wrote a music review. This is my music review. 

 

1. Name of the Musician: John Lennon.

2. Name of the song: "Imagine" 

3. Music Genre: Pop/rock

4. About the musician: John Lennon was born in England in 1940 and died in NYC in 1980. He was a member of the "Beatles" who became the first British band. To break out big in the U.S. John wrote and released his most popular song 'Imagine" in 1971. It became an anti-war anthem.

5. Music review: I think John wants to tell us about the changing the wold, the politics and no more wars. He wants peace. The song is very nice because it makes sense and is a call for people to change the world. "Imagine there's no countries it isn't hard to do nothing to kill or die". I like this part of the lyrics, because the world belongs to everyone and there should be no borders. I feel it is necessary to keep peace in the world.
